For those of us here at Nashwaak Villa, the next few weeks should prove to be exciting ones as the tender for site preparation for the new home is decided. A number of revisions to the original design have been made and we are close to completion of the new plan! The long awaited new facility will include the secure enclosed courtyard for our residents to enjoy fresh air and sunshine. The majority of resident rooms will be private and the new kitchen will be modern and efficient. Our dining area will be pleasant and filled with natural lighting. The new home will include a 'downtown' area for our residents to visit the hairdresser, the giftshop, therapy or treatment rooms, the multi-purpose or chapel area as well as meeting family and friends at the entrance. Public will be greeted immediately in the administration area while the resident living areas will remain separate from the public and service spaces. Although the necessary delays have been disappointing, we are now moving forward and thrilled to share this news with our interested friends and community stake-holders! We thank everyone for their continued support and look forward to sharing the progress with you! |

Please join Minister Cheryl Lavoie, along with friends, family, residents and staff at 2pm, Thursday, July 15th on our new site located at 67 Limekiln Road. Immediately following the ceremony, we will be gathering in the living room or on the grounds of Nashwaak Villa, 32 Limekiln Road for a Strawberry Social! We hope to see you there! |
